Gray Heron Spey

This is a variation of the pattern developed by A.E. Knox around 1850.  This fly has a bright yellow floss and black dubbing body ribbed with Lagartun's fine oval tinsel and flat tinsel.  Blue-eared pheasant provides animated movement.  It has a traditional bronze mallard roof.  A classic pattern that continues to be effective.
